Ⅰ What is 6063-t5 aluminium alloy?
Modern industry 4.0 era, aluminium profiles are widely used, aluminium profile frame, aluminium fencing, aluminium equipment rack, aluminium robot rack, aluminium workbench aluminium stepping platform, ladder table and aluminium assembly line body aluminium profile products have been in-depth to all areas of industrial production, has comprehensively replaced the traditional iron frame, in the transformation of the update, industrial manufacturers will choose to customize the aluminium profile frame products.
But the question comes, many manufacturers in the custom aluminium profile frame products, will be aluminium profile manufacturers labeled 6063-t5 confused, do not understand what this string of figures in the end represents. So today we will say 6063-t5 specifically represents the meaning of what.
Aluminium profile 6063-T5, 6063 represents the grade of the aluminium alloy material, 6063 aluminium alloy is a medium strength, heat treatable strengthened alloy, belongs to the aluminium alloy in the six series alloy. T5, is the classification mark of heat treatment, the first digit after the T word, indicates the basic type of heat treatment, that is to say, T5 indicates the artificial aging from the forming temperature after cooling.
Ⅱ For aluminium alloy grades
Our current common is the Aluminium Association of America's number, the specific meaning is as follows:
The first digit indicates the main added alloying elements. "1" indicates that pure aluminium, "2" indicates that the main added alloying element is copper, "3" indicates that the main added alloying element is manganese or manganese and magnesium, "4" indicates that the main added alloying element is silicon, "5" indicates that the main alloying element added is magnesium, "6" indicates that the main added alloying elements are silicon and magnesium. "7" indicates that the main added alloying elements are zinc and magnesium, "8" indicates that a new alloy that does not belong to the above alloy family.
The second digit indicates an alloy with a modified content of major added alloying elements or impurities in the original alloy. A "0" denotes the original alloy, a "1" denotes the original alloy with the first modification, and a "2" denotes the original alloy with the second modification.
The third and fourth digits, pure aluminium indicates the original alloy, and alloy indicates the designation of individual alloys. "-″ followed by Hn or Tn, for the work-hardening state or heat-treatment state of the refining symbol. "Hn" indicates the refining symbol of non-heat-treatment alloy, "Tn" indicates the refining symbol of heat-treatment alloy.
Ⅲ What is the difference between 6063-T5 and 6063-T6?
Aluminium 6063-T5 and 6063-T6 are two kinds of aluminium alloy profiles with different characteristics, their main difference lies in the essence, scope of application and mechanical properties.
1. Essence: 6063-T5 aluminium profiles are aluminium alloy profiles made of 6063, while 6063-T6 refers to the state of aluminium alloy in high temperature forming ancient city cooling, artificial aging.
2. Scope of application: 6063-T5 state is applicable to aluminium alloy products which are cooled by high temperature forming process without cold working (straightening, levelling, not affecting mechanical properties) and artificial aging.
6063-T6 state is applicable to aluminium alloy products that are not cold worked after cooling from high temperature forming process.
3. Mechanical properties: The tensile strength of 6063-T5 is 160Mpa, the yield strength is 110Mpa, the hardness is 8.5, and the elongation is 8%. The tensile strength of 6063-T6 is 205Mpa, the yield strength is 180Mpa, the hardness is 11.5 and the elongation is 8%.
Therefore, in terms of mechanical properties, 6063-T6 shows a little stronger.
In short, when choosing aluminium, you need to choose the suitable state according to the product's use environment and mechanical properties requirements to give full play to its advantages.
